Abstract

This research attempts to shed light on the ideas of the philosopher Jahm bin Safwan regarding his doctrine of Fatalism (predestination) as the foundation of a true philosophical vision based on a deep understanding of existence. The research shows that the majority of the readings or analysis that dealt with the thought of Al Jahm were not fair, and depended at best on a narrow vision by the historians of the linguistic difference. The study will show that there is in the thought of Al Jahm an original philosophical dimension that needs to be reconsidered and revisited.
