Abstract

The term structure of the place expresses the internal spatial organization of the distribution of its human and economic elements. Therefore، the geographical distribution of human agglomerations in the administrative region reflects its internal structure and functions، which change over time as long as the population-urban indicators increase or decrease، so the result of the change of the spatial organization of these indicators، What we are witnessing in the Douma region، it is worth changing the geographical position of the center of its urban system to become the population and service center of gravity for its villages.

Based on the foregoing، that principle was applied to the administrative region of Douma، which occupies about 60% of the area of the Damascus countryside governorate، by relying on mathematical evidence using the statistical-mathematical method، the cartographic method، and the descriptive and analytical method، and based on geographical evidence and evidence، whose results resulted in the town of Al-Nashabiyah The center of the administrative region instead of the marginal city of Douma. Especially since that area is going through a residential reconstruction phase، it must be administratively organized، which will achieve a comprehensive service - social and economic development at the level of the region.
