Abstract

Television is one of the most important media accepted by the public. It is the means that enters homes for more than seven hours a day, in addition to its ability to attract adults and children around its screen, combining sound, image, movement and colors.

Studies have agreed on the negative effects of exposure For a long time to television from the shrinking social relations and low level of educational achievement, and lack of movement and sedentary life style, and the tendency to spend more time in the follow-up of television content.

Thus, the study dealt with the addiction of the Syrian public to watching television in the framework of the theory of dependence, as well as measuring and studying the differences between the categories of demographic and personal variables in exposure, dependence and addiction to watching TV.
