Abstract

The research and immersion in the geographical intellectual products of any precise discipline is the pulse of geographical thought, as it represents the trends and ideas of researchers in a specific place and time, which comes as a result of the researcher's fusion with the daily and realistic issues of societal phenomena that need solutions and changes that may be simple and quick or radical and long-term, This study came to grasp the quantitative and qualitative changes of the specialization of population studies at the Faculty of Arts - University of Baghdad, and the importance of the study comes to clarify the path that this specialization and its intellectual trends are taking and to be the goal in the continuity of their giving and cognitive activity for the subject, and in order to know the changes that accompany the development of

knowledge in the topics of graduate students in population studies, and in order to facilitate the follow-up process and reach the desired goals, the study was divided into a comprehensive introduction and three discussions. The introduction included the theoretical framework, represented by the problem, hypothesis, goal, and temporal and spatial limits of the research, and the researcher used several methods such as descriptive, historical, content analysis as well as the use of simple quantitative methods, and the study included the theoretical framework, represented by the problem, hypothesis, goal, temporal and spatial limits of the research, and by the end of 2023, a total of 50 theses and dissertations representing population geography studies have been published.
