The role of social capital in reducing social stigma for those recovering from addiction at Ibn Rushd Hospital in Damascus

The study aimed to identify the role of social capital in reducing the social stigma of those recovering from addiction, recovering in the city of Damascus, (From the perspective of parents of those recovering from addiction) and to explain the manifestations of this social stigma among recovering addicts in the city of Damascus, and the procedures and methods used by social capital to reduce the social stigma of them. The study used The sample social survey approach. The study sample consisted of (126) guardians. The researcher used the questionnaire as a tool for the study, and the researcher used a
reconnaissance sample consisting of (15) guardians of the recovered; To measure the stability of the tool.
Among the most important findings of the study: There is a correlation between social stigma among addicts and the addicts’ return to addiction, and that bridging social capital is important in reducing and reducing the social stigma of those recovering from addiction through their integration into employment programs and local activities.
