Abstract

This research Studied the wrestling and races shows in the Roman Empire, highlighting the importance of leisure and entertainment for Roman people, and the Emperors’ support for them through setting special places for those shows, wrestling or races, many schools for training the gladiators and teaching them the fighting arts’ rules and to be able to bear hard circumstances, the thing that shows their courage, strength and their ability to bear the fighting and its kinds. Sometimes the fighting takes place between the gladiators themselves, or between the gladiators and the predators, according to races, reces fields were set, and drivers of the chariots were trained and their capacities were built, the best kinds of horses were brought, and special chariots were designed for that.
