Abstract

This research is concerned with an attempt to shed light on the importance of the head among the Neolithic inhabitants of the Levant by studying funerary rituals related to the head in particular and how to deal with it, separating it from the body and preserving it in private places, while trying to reshape the face using permanent materials such as plaster, in addition to trying Head shaping by carving the face and making stone masks played an important role in rituals related to death and ancestor worship.
