Abstract

This article seeks to demonstrate the sky in Mesopotamian thought. According to this thought, the gods were those who created the sky, but ancient sources differed on the method of creation and the identity of the Creator. In heaven there were a number of resident gods, and they were responsible for everything that heaven sends to the earth, such as water, light, property, justice, fear, flood, and rain. disease. The gods of heaven were constantly descending to the earth and the lower world to perform certain tasks related to these two worlds, and after completing their missions, they would return to heaven. All of these points deserve to be studied in detail, which allows us to understand Mesopotamian religious beliefs related to heaven.
