Abstract

With its important geographical location, Assyria occupied the link between Mesopotamia and Anatolia on the one hand and the countries of the Mediterranean basin on the other hand, and between the central and southern regions of Mesopotamia, in addition to its location on the transportation routes that connect the northeast and southwest. Despite all the advantages, It lacked the resources necessary for industry to develop its economy. Therefore, the Assyrians sought to secure these resources either through trade or through military campaigns, which led them to form a strong and organized army through which they were able to control most of the roads and regions that contributed to strengthening their economy, in addition to their emergence as a great power in that history, which was documented through cuneiform texts. And artistic paintings.
