Abstract

The research aims to show the importance of the pomegranate in the civilization of Mesopotamia. It was not only an edible fruit, but this tree, in all its parts, entered most aspects of the lives of the people of Mesopotamia. It was among the gifts presented to kings, in religious life, among the offerings and vows for temples, and in various industries (leather - Cylinder seals - ornaments and jewelry - medicines). It became one of the sacred trees in the Mesopotamian civilization, where the walls of palaces were decorated with the most beautiful paintings
