Abstract

Man has valued beauty as a supreme value and a lofty goal, which attracts him to it and gives him a feeling of pleasure and happiness. And he sought to search for it as he has been making it, and has always set standards to describe it, clarify its features, and make judgments about the relativity of its realization, and evaluate its presence and forms of its manifestation. Art was his genius means to create new images of beauty, a fertile field for the artist to experiment and innovate, express the vitality of his aesthetic awareness, and a mirror that reflects his culture, his thought, his emotions, his relationship with his surroundings, nature and society, phenomena and events. And a window through which he releases his innermost self, shares them with others, and in turn embodies their hopes and pains. It expresses with its plastic forms and artistic interests, its aesthetic values and civilizational message.

In this research, attempts are made to discover the features of aesthetic values in the paintings of the artist Abdel Manan Shamma during his artistic career, through his choices of themes and stylistic methods that he presented, and the human implications embodied in his artworks, or in his positions and opinions that are consistent and integrated with them.
