Abstract

In this study, theobromine complex were prepared with ferrous chloride [Fe(C7H8O2N4)]Cl2. Infrared spectroscopy  was used to determine sites of iron-binding in these   complex. The experimental results were compared with theoretical study by DFT/B3LYP. formation constants were calculated in physiological conditions using ultraviolet spectroscopy, Kf=74.056 M-1for theobromine-Fe(II) complex. Molar ratio for Fe(II) and theobromine was 1:1 (ligand: Fe(II)).
