Removal Of Iron (III) From Aqueous Solutions In The Waste Of The Leaves Of The Eabrod Garlic Plant
Keywords:
Leaves of Eabrod garlic plant, adsorption, Iron(III) removal.Abstract
The dried leaves of Eabrod garlic plant treated with sodium hydroxide solution were used to remove Iron from synthetic aqueous solutions, which included the study of the effect of solution pH, adsorbent weight, the initial concentration of the pigment at different temperatures and Thermodynamics and kinetics study and characteristion of samples by IR, SEM methods.
The study showed that the process of adsorption is obeyed to both Langmuir and Freundlich equations. The maximum adsorption capacity of the Iron was 29.76mg/g. The study also showed that the amount of ion on the treated garlic leaves increased by increasing the pH of the medium and the treatment temperature and that the highest percentage of ion removal occurs after about one hour of contact time.
