This study presents the preparation of poly (p-toluidine) at laboratory temperature in an acidic medium, in the presence of ammonium pyrosulfate as an oxidant. The morphological properties of the prepared polymer were studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The prepared polymer sample showed a smooth surface with micro-particles. The resulting polymer was characterized by (IR). The thermal stability of the polymer was studied using Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Differential Thermal Analyzer (DTA). It was found to consist of one dissociation stage. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) of the prepared polymer was performed and it was found that the polymer does not contain any melting or glass transition point and it disintegrates before melting. This research also studies the formation kinetics of the polymer by UV-Vis device, and it was found that the polymerization reaction of poly (p-toluidine) is a first-order reaction and its velocity constant is (2.82x10-4 Sec-1).
