An Economic Study of the Possibility of Partial Replacement of the Drega Variety with the Spunta Variety for the Potato Crop, Scholastic Case, Daraa Governorate (Daraa Area)

Abstract

The aim of the research is to the possibility of partial replacement of the Draga variety with the Spunta variety in Daraa Governorate, a sample of 29 villages was selected using the random sampling method from the Daraa region of Daraa Governorate, the sample size was 199 farmers, they grow sort the potatoes crop, the economic analysis was adopted to estimate total production costs and economic return and partial budget estimation and equilibrium for sort the potatoes crop in the study area for the average of two agricultural season 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. The results of the analysis showed that the farmers achieved an average revenue of 25142550 and 43082960 S.P/H for each of the Draga and Spunta species, respectively. They also made anet profit of 9329291.3 and 25378934.6 S.P respectively, the Spunta variety also achieved an economic efficiency that amounted to value 2.434, it is the highest compared to the value of economic efficiency of the Draga variety it is about 1.590. As the results of the analysis showed replacing a Draga with a Spunta is feasible because it has made an additional profit of 1415.8 athousand S.P/H, this means that the Draga variety can be replaced by the Spunta variety it is economically feasible, research is recommended the necessity of directing farmers in the study area towared the possibility of expanding it is planting Spunta variety, and partially replace it with a Draga variety, and inform of the profitability and economic return which they will receive as aresult of this exchange.
