The research aims here to study social realism in the works of the English artist Claire Leighton, and to reveal the social values of these works, their dimensions, and their reflection on the elements of formation within her artwork.
Her wood carvings were an artistic phenomenon of social, psychological and aesthetic expressive value that reflects the echo of the reality of living in a period of turbulent peace between the two great world wars, as she dedicated his works to portraying human issues, conflicts and pains, hence the human being is the main focus that she targets with her art.
