Abstract

The study was conducted at the buffalo development and breeding station in Shataha, affiliated with the Scientific Agricultural Research Commission in Syria, in 2022, with the aim of studying the effect of environmental factors (birth number - season and year of birth) on the age at first birth and the period between two births in orangutan buffalo, based on records. Station (birth and birth record - vaccination and birth record). The study used a record of (300) buffalo records that serve the research over a period of 22 years from 2000 to 2022, and the data was tabulated in the Excel program and analyzed using the

statistical package program Harvey, 1990. The overall average values for the characteristics of age at first birth/month and interval between two births/day were 38.6 ± 7.8 and 419 ± 75, respectively. The results of the analysis of variance showed a significant effect of birth number on age at first birth and non-significant on the period between two births, while the effect of season and year of birth was non-significant on age at first birth and significant on the period between two births.
